Default xr head on ea

just would like to know if u could get more power out of puting a EB-D xr6 head on a 3.9 MPFI block. i know that it bolt's stright on but would it work (power wise) thank's

would definaltly get more power, the XR heads are already ported so they flow heaps better. pretty sure they have bigger valves too, but someone should confirm that.. im currently trying to source an EL/AU XR6 head for my 3.9 block. should be getting some serious power gains over the stock head

the compression will go down im sure. ea's have a smaller combustion chamber

shave the head a bit and deck the block to raise it back up. dunno what comp it would get to, but power wise it should b ok with a xr6 cam

Guys i dont think the 3.9 bottom end on the early ea's would work as well as a 4ltr bottom end...i beleve if ur gonna go to the extent of getting a new head xr6 one just put like an eb/ed bottom end..cheers frank
