Today, I have had confirmation that the EUROFORD Club has been allocated 12 spaces (subject to confirmation) for us to display our vehicles at Oran Park. The Production Car Association of Australia, in which Darren has his ST170 entered, encourage as many of us to participate. As does Darren and his Team. Therefore, if it's at all possible, expressions of interest of those who are interested in going out for the day would be most appreciated. The organisers need a rough estimate by Friday 9th of September. But, that doesn't mean that if we are (under) or over that number this is a hassle as from experience there's plenty of space in the carpark. It just means that all the cars won't be gathered in one spot. Raceday is Sunday and I thought that we'd meet at the Twin Servo's on the M4 (westbound). The same meeting place that we had for our Blue Mountains Cruise and it wouldn't be necessary to have that much of an early start time. They mentioned that there would be a 'pay for one, get one free' tickets for $30.00. I would need to confirm this though. So please bear this in mind. Hope to see as many of us out there. Fast Eddie. |

Wow, this is all really soon, next weekend in fact.
I'll put my hand up as a yes, I would really enjoy getting out and spending the day at the race track. There should be some really good cars and people to see there! I am really unsure that we would get together 12 cars for the day, but I hope a few come along! :eclipsee_ Tim |

Great news guys, though I still have to confirm the number of spaces available. I seem to think 6 might be more realistic. There should be plenty of space in the carpark, though.
The Production Car Championship should have a Round at Philip Island in 2006, although Darren wasn't able to compete at the last round there this year. Keep an eye on the calender for next year and see if the Club can get some of our Victorian members to go along. |

Alright, what time shall we make it at the westbound Maccas on the M4? I don't know how far Oran park is from there (I think it's only 5 mins away from Eastern Creek though?)

Hey Tim,
Yeah, Eastern Creek basically backs onto the servos on the M4. Oran Park is about 40-45 minutes from the Twins heading down the M4, Mamre Rd, Luddenham Rd to The Northern Rd. This is the way I went last time I went to Oran Park. Abraxas Quote:

Tim,
The Best's have invited us to have a closer look at the car at around 10am on Sunday. I'm sure throughout the day we can drop in and have a look, though. Does 8.30am meeting time sound good?? and set of not to long after this time. The route Abraxas has suggested it good!. Coming from the Western end of the M4 I usually turn off the M4 onto the Northern Road and head south from there, so this is also another route to Oran Park. As I've mentioned in a previous post (Focus/Fiesta) section of the Fordforums, we've been offered a 2 for 1 ticket entry and also the number of spaces we've been allocated. BUT after leaving a THOUSAND messages for the person responsible for giving me this advice I still haven't heard from them to confirm exactly what's happening in this respect. Needless to say I'm *#**ed off. I'm going to the track on Saturday and try and find out what's happening. Sorry, but it's out of my control. Do you think you can bring the Club banner along with you too, please! |

Yeah the time sounds good Eddie, it will be a fantastic day out at the race track. I am a bit suprised and disappointed more people haven't taken the opportunity up while the GTP round is in Sydney and we have this invitation.
8.30am, Westbound Maccas on the M4, I'll be there with the club banner and my camera, and ready for a great day at the race track! Tim |

Hi Guys,
Sorry been M.I.A. for a few days (work has been flogging me like a dead horse). I too cant beleive more people arent getting in one this opportunity, its not every day someone offers you access to their garage at a race meet. I too will see you all at the M4 in the Ink Blue Zetec, with my DSLR and Zoom lens...0830 with my lights on ;) . The route noted by Abraxas is not a bad idea thanks for the tips there Abraxas (or are you joining us for the day at Oran park). Timbo: you will be going through past my place to get to Blacktown so if you want I can wait for you on the side of the road near Old Windsor/Sunnyholt Rd and link up with you there? Alternate just meet you at the M4 Twin Servos. Todd

Hey guys... i would LOVE to come.... but with uni starting again ive been spending money, and at the same time im trying to save money to get some mods done to my car. Plus, i just got a new job, which begins next week.... and i still have to work on friday and saturday with my old job. PLUS i have 2000word law assignment and an exam next week...... damn i wish i could see the ST170!
If the new job didnt start tuesday and instead started friday (after the exams/assignment) then i would have that day free to study.... but as it stands now, sunday is my cramming day with uni work! Again, sorry :(

Aeron,
You're right! But the Darren was there. His ST170 has had E.C.U. "difficulties" hence he isn't racing this weekend. Fast Eddie. |
