So I'm back in an EF. The poorest example of which I have ever driven... But for $100 i got an EF Gli with 410,000km (!!!). But with that many km it must have had at least one gearbox rebuild, which explains the sweetness that is the shifting... It also has a decent amount of poke, so it might have had a fresh engine at some stage.
Completely stock, damaged front passenger door (won't open, side impact). So yeah, next step weld diff and disconnect rear brakes. I might also make an electronic shift kit. It *might* also get a second radiator and oversized transmission cooler mounted in the boot, just to be sure that I don't kill it... Either that or hook up a water spray to the current one, which appears to work fine...

Yeah well the worst that can happen is that the car can burn to the ground. In which case I'll win the carnage trophy and $100 would have been so worth it for that.

A little development on that front... I might stay in aus a few more weeks. It might get registered depending on how good (or otherwise) the suspension is. Apart from that door the body is straight, straight enough for gloss black...
Either way it's doing skids. If it comes to being registered, I'll keep the diff I'm about to lock for the burnouts ***edit: and another to actually drive with***. The lack of ABS makes it a lot easier to disconnect the rear brakes every time I feel the need...

Upon closer inspection the car already had a small trans cooler... I was pressed for time so I didn't end up hooking up the air-con core as the trans cooler, just left whatever was on it.
So I took it to the burnout comp last night and did pretty well (didn't get into the finals, but the 6cyl class was the biggest, and it was my first proper burnout). We (me and my mate, the second driver) did 4 skids each. Destroyed 4 sets of tyres between us... It sat at the top of 2nd all the time in a standstill with 15's on it (3rd with 14's, may have got 4th if it wasn't for the speed limiter). With the 15's you could do what you liked in 1st (circles etc), 14's it would struggle just a little to do the same in 2nd. Hopefully the professional photographer got a few pics of it... my camera died. So now what should I do with it? Revs check then RWC inspection? Turns out the motor has been reconditioned at some point too.
