Not sure what the verdict would be but Matt Maguire should get an academy award for the show he put on after he got hit! He looked like he was near death!

My uncle went to the game and said Maguire was vomiting after the hit, thats pretty good acting. Halls knows how to hit and should know better. I want Hall to miss the game and the Swans to win, would be nice and bittersweet for Baz.

I'm a saints supporter, and personally the amount that Barry Hall was being messed with before the 'strike' was legitimately covered by his single "Don't argue".

Personally I reckon there has been worse offences and this one was just a matter of timing (grand final and all) so he got pinged - if it was round 4, it wouldn't have made a report.

I reckon he should be allowed to play the grand final.

GRNKPR it's okay to be going hard at the ball and causing some "biffo" action, but hitting someone blatantly is unacceptable!

He's guilty..... although Maguire must have been acting, it didn't look that hard. Hall is *just* worthy of one week suspension.

They will try to convince them that Barry Hall wasnt behind the play, rather he was going for a lead. Apparently it will be a lot harder for him to get off if they determine it was behind the play...

MY thoughts, well im a die hard Saints fan, so give him 3 weeks to boofhead!

Well being an eagles supporter I want him to play, so if/when :P we win, then there'll be no reflux of "you only won cause barry wasn't playing". As to should he play, I think it would be unfair to the other players in similar occurances of striking whom have all received 1 week, if he was to get off.

As to whether he is guilty or not, he pleaded guilty hence only 1week suspension and not 2.

Gehrig copped a week for hitting cloke, but archer didnt get anything for hitting tredrea, neither did judd against rawlings. And they were all very similar.

The hit was there, but I think wrongly graded. The word is that they will argue that it was in play (shaping to make a lead, eyes on the ball) and negligent instead of reckless (consistent with the Eagles player who was reported the next day).

I reckon he will be a very very lucky boy - the tribunal will downgrade the charge to the point where he can escape with a reprimand.

Otherwise I and thousands of other Swans fans will be incredibly filthy with him for being so careless when we were THIS close.

I'd be sending my expenses bill for game ticket / time spent in queues / flights / accomodation to Barry Hall, c/o Sydney Football Club, Driver Ave, Moore Park, if he is suspended and we lose!

GUILTY AS CHARGED!!! Im an umpire and like that u dont need... He hit him deliberetly and should be punished accordingly, who cares if he has the GF, it shouldnt make a difference otherwise semi finals will just become a big sluggingfest with a free ticket to the GF.

Hes a grown man... he should be responsible for his actions and if hes stupid enough to do that in the finals well he deserves what he gets

exactly its not netball its a contact sport they need to take it back to the good old days where the cameras wernt there if the umpire didnt see u him somebody good luck because the next time the guy who got hit would square it up by hitting back behind play.
