Default please help me get it started

thanks to both of you.

however i still have a problem, it wont start!

i have plenty of spark, plenty of fuel going in, will the gap in the points make a BIG difference? i did the gap by sight as i dont have a feeler gauge.

it turns over very easy, just doesnt kick into life....

any suggestions

Points gap will make a difference if it's way out. Best bet is to just nip into Stupa Sheep or Repco & buy a feeler gauge, they're probably only about $10- $15 for a cheap one that will do the job well enough.
If it's not starting, double check your connections from Dizzy-to-Coil, Dizzy-to-plugs. Besides that, it could be a lot of things.

easy way to find tdc compression stroke. Pull no 1 plug, jam dunny paper in and bump the engine on the starter til the paper pops out, U now have tdc comp stroke. Toss the dissy back in and align the next firing plug lead according to the cap onto no 1. The fact that u have spark means ur points gap is close at least, and I dont really see u being 180 out if the engine turns freely, but ya never know i guess. Apologies for the fuel , match run joke...... thought u had it sorted out.

Cheers
Doc
