I'd go Option 1 for sure - lose it for 3 months (take some annual leave from work : ) or just catch the train. Then get all your full 12 points back
Much better than constantly worrying for 12 months - not just about speeding but sometimes red light cameras cannot be avoided (got caught going through one at about 5km/h last month due to roadworks, stupid me but there goes another 3 points, only 6 left : ). It takes 3 damn years here in NSW to get some points back after an offence.

I'm in the same boat at the moment - but I reckon the 12mths will be it cause I need the car for work.
I had never been pulled over prior to this incident and it was actually because of my passenger not me as the driver, but NSW road laws automatically make the driver responsible. Yay. Anyway I've been driving like a granny since that happened...but I still jump when I hear sirens!! lol Good luck whichever option u go with.

I'm with Merlin, If on the 10th month of probation you get caught exceeding 100km/h by 12km/h in a 100km/h zone as highlighted by the natural fireball effect, you have effectively lost the 10 months....
Take the plungs and do the 3 months UNLESS you really need transport. The three months will go fast.
