Anyone got any recommendations as to what type of Electric fuel pump I should get to replace the stuffed mechanical pump in my '79 RS2000 Escort, and if a regulator is required, what pressure is ideal? The engine is currently being rebuilt, mostly stock but will be balanced, 60 thou over, have a mild cam for a while (until I replace the auto tranny with a manual), as well as a set of extractors and possibly twin dellorto's. Later down the track it should end up with a ported head and a wilder cam to maybe do some club racing (supersprints, hill climbs etc) but will still be registered and street driven.

I have a Carter electric fuel pump in my RS2000 with twin 45mm webbers.
The pump is around 14psi which is a bit high so I need a regulator aswell it cost me $135 but I htink normally they're about $200 and they're definately needed with bigger carbys as the standard mechanical pump couldn't keep up at higher revs

Thanks Thornspawn, much appreciated. What pressure range is the regulator you are running?

I don't have one yet the car is being painted at the moment and I'm doing the
engine bit by bit. I'm almost finished just need a regulator and half decent ignition system.
