Ok ,so the bluetooth plays up sometimes and the glovebox lid sits a bit crooked, but at least you know your car will start unlike many of those ve drivers and on many ,many occasions for some.

you have to remember HSV has been around heaps longer than FPV, what ever that means, by that fact alone they had to have had somekind of an advantage, but now, with the s/c 5.0 L, you would have to also ask, how many of the other ford boys will be jumping ship, particulalry the turbo lovers?

Can a mod please remove one 'o' from the title.

Ford gave away plenty of V8 sales when the XF came out and again when the AU came out. I'm sure some HSV owners will trade up on a Coyote, but not the true fans.

Just like those of us who would stick with the brand we love.

Our rival forum has much praise for the new model. A few already said they will jump ship.

Whether or not it's enough to make a huge sales difference remains to be seen, but either way it's looking good thus far.

Now with the first news of a 11.7s timeslip from Simon's XFT Tune & MT ET radials only GS ute has been confirmed, plenty more are expressing amazement and really softening up!

Realistically - not too many will jump from the HSV camp to the FPV camp. Its an unwritten rule really......only the minority fencesitters may opt for the FPV and then again - they may opt back to the HSV when they release their 500 Kw 10 Litre special........swings and roundabouts.

I think the biggest demographic will be current FPV owners that are about to upgrade or are at the end of their lease arrangement. The GS is a smart model to have - and just quietly - I think FPV are banking ( literally ) on this being their biggest seller - it will cannibalise the GT big time. Ironically - the GTP and GTE may actually come into their own with this new release - they differentiate themselves far more from the GS.

Might very well be onto something there!
