Need to pick some brains...
Am thinking of upgrading wheels and tyres on my WQ Fiesta Ghia, possibly to something with a larger diameter. I want something aftermarket that 'fill out' the wheel arch a little more than the standard rims. My question is how would they affect my speedo reading? ...and is there an adjustment that can be made (possibly to the ECU) to rectify any variance?

You need 17" wheels with a 4 x 108 PCD with an offset of ET40 matched to 205/40R17 tyres ... this combination looks perfect on the WQ Fiesta and will fill the guards nicely.
Problem is, sourcing wheels with a 4 x 108 PCD is very difficult in Australia, let alone ones you actually like! .... best option with the high Aussie dollar at the moment would probably be getting a set from overseas, .... Tirerack might be your best bet. http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/resul...SES&sort=Brand Of course you will also need to lower the car on larger wheels so it doesn't look like a 4 wheel drive! ... King Springs will do the trick, good quality, readily available and pretty cheap ... or of course Eibach Springs from Euro Parts if you want the best. |

F1 wheel and tyre warehouse offer a plethora of wheels for the fiesta as they order blanks and have the PCD and offset drilled/machined for each individual car. They are located on the Gold Coast but can ship wheels or wheels and tyres to anywhere in Australia whilst offering 12 months interest free finance.

In regards to your speedo, if you run 205/40/17's your speedo will not be noticably effected as they were an option on both wp/wq and ws/wt fiestas.

There are 3 settings in the WQs for the 3 different size tyres, I had mine changed at the 45k service (very nicely done for free) so should be all ok.
As for rims as it so happens I have the LR Focus MP3's for sale (17x7 and 5 of them) if you are interested. Also watch your offset, I know rob said 40 should fit, but if you lower it, these may come a bit close to scrubbing, look for something with 45 might be a bit better. (my standard steel rims are 15x6 with a +52, and the 17's are 17x7 with a +49, the ones i am about to buy are +45) Hope this helps
