Default Ford Laser KJ 1.8 Auto Idle Problem

Peter566
Hi I don't know whether this has been discussed before but my Laser won't Idle properly anymore, I do most of my driving on the highway back and forth to work and the car runs faultlessly even after 200,00 on the clock but as soon as I have to stop at traffic lights etc in town it just idles roughly and the revs seems to surge up and down especially when the aircon is on. Could this be some kind of a sensor problem and could it be expensive, especially if it is an engine control unit problem etc.
Cheers

dont know these at all

might fix with just adjusting the
acccelerator cable adjustment screw
(on a pivot thingy near the throttle body)

lets say as a guess
dirty fuel filter
if it was a sensor, dissy module or ecu it either works or stops

other guesses
idle stepper motor / idle controller unit
throttle position sensor
dissy cap,leads ,old plugs
coil exciter or coil
if injected dirty fuel injectors
timing
