Default This is how the "other half" live

Good to see Roman Abromovich has showed some restraint with his latest tinnie, complete with bullet proof glass and missle defense system.

Wonder if i can get a missle defense system installed in my 30 footer ??.

Money make the world go round.

Good on the super ritch for having the confidence to drop 100's of mill into the fastest depreciating asset yet invented by man.

We worry about dropping 30 or 40k over three or four years on a car, this man will drop 20 or 30 mill on that sucker over 5 years. Probably more.

Yes and no, it will be a depreciating tax write off, so it might just mean he pays allot less tax. It will be structured to be part of his business activities.

3 years to build... I hope the boat-builder took a large deposit upfront. Otherwise, he would have been panicking somewhat during the whole GFC.

I can't even imagine why someone would want a boat that big. It's bigger than our Navy frigates at 557ft. You could launch missiles off that thing.

If you've got the billions you might as well spend it, money is very useless when you're dead.

Magnificent, both the boat and the waste of money. I wonder if it has a missile defence system to go with the missile detection system. One without the other isn't much good, although it might give him enough time to jump over the side if he's under attack.

Abramovich also has a 40 man "personal army". However if you knew about his dealings and how he got rich you'd understand the desire for protection.

Yeah, he freely admits paying billions in bribes etc to high ranking government officials for protection. Not to mention being very close mates with Boris Yeltsin back in the day.

Very shady bunch those ruskies.

Quite literally above the law. It was interesting actually to find out the other day that the city with the most billionaires per capita was Moscow(I guessed new York and Tokyo) and that most of them are probably(definetely) gangland connected. Shady gangster billionaire crooks!

True, and how angry do you get when you think "Where's my phone? I swear I put it in the car"

Least that search is a bit easier than this one!

The 2 best days of boat ownership ;
1) The day you buy your boat and
2) The day you sell it.

That is incredible. I've read somewhere he finances entire hospitals, schools and infrastructure out of his own pocket when he used to be a Govenor or somesuch political figure.

trouble is some rich people struggle to find ways to spend their money, so they waste it on useless or overpriced stuff
