thanks i got a really good deal on it. it was a haily and was covered in marks and had a bit of rust in the boot.

so i got a detail done. it spent over 6hours under lights and its come up a million bucks. just got the rust removed, under warranty of course. and it goes fantastic as well!

my au3 fairmont has a body kit on it. did the au 2 come out with a body kit on the sides? nice car mate. fanstasic job on the detailing. one thing that really gets dirty are the alloys. i have to jack my car up one day and take all the wheels off and clean behind.

nah, as far as my research shows, the series 2 cars didnt come with side skirts. im gonna go see if i can pick up the tickford kit for it... when i get money and negotiate a deal with NRMA that allows me to modify my car in the slightest.

paint your tow ball and stuff black so it doesn't stick out and blends in... that was the first thing i did to my ute and i would highly reccomend it as ford towballs rust like yours (and mine) and it looks sh*t

i just put a set of new tires on it.. im a bit strapped for cash, so 700 for a set of Fulda's is cheaper than 500 bucks a tire on a 17inch rim... plus i want a set of 5 lol. when these tires run out ill buy some new rims.

Nice pickup, very clean and the Fairmonts are a great start for mods.

Re sideskirts, all AU3 models had factory ones but on AU2 the only models to have them were the Classic's, S-Packs and XR's etc. Fairmonts didnt have them.

And in regards to your insurance, I would check but I had my old car insured with NRMA and they were fine about mods. The only thing you couldnt go messing with were stuff like turbos etc etc (although for a price im sure you could, i just didnt get that far) and camshafts were the main no-go stipulation.

Check with them, but you should be fine to do stuff like exhaust, lowering etc.
