hi there all
i have a 02 xr8 ute and it has been getting like a big flat spot, say when taking off it just hesitates a fair bit then decides to go. its duel fuel and doesn't do it on gas. so i know its fuel related just where to start. i have only had the car for about 5 months. i have put new leads, plugs and msd coils on it. i am going to get a fuel filter for it, its only started doing it the last couple of weeks. i was thinking fuel pump but once it gets through that flat spot it will rev out. anyone had any problem like this?? also i only run bp ultimate in it. cheers for any help

because you are still burning fuel(LPG) it creates carbon and since you are not utilizing the fuel injectors on petrol all the time they can carbon up causing flat spots. I was once told by an old school ford mechanic of a very crude method of removing the carbon from the injectors by mixing 50/50 water and brake fluid, taking a vacuum line off the manifold and whilst reving the enging suck up the mixture slowly through the vacuum line it actuall disolves the carbon from the inlet valve and the injector nozzles. Be aware it smokes like a b*#ch so you should take it somewhere deserted.

cheers fellas, i've cleaned the maf, but stilll happening. put some injector cleaner in the tank and see how that goes. if its doesn't start going better soon i'll pull the injectors out and give them a clean, plus i hae to change my fuel filter and i might also put some new oxy sensors in while i am at it

Disconnect the car battery and leave it of for 20 odd minutes to reset the ecu. If that doesnt work then your fuel system needs looking at.
