I have these "debates" with my wife, on how to say words. Purely because I have an Aussie accent and she, the Upstate NY accent. For the record, I pronounce it "Bathust" with the "thust" said quickly. And I've just bought my campsites for the great race too. So there... :P |

Look at how they pronouse AUSTAR!
Going by the adds on TV..... AUS STAR..... when it should read AUST AR ? We have a small town up the ranges near Mareeba... called Ravenshoe. Pronounced " Ravens...hoe " Yet people who arent locals often call it... Ravens shoe! Always brings up a laugh.

Creswick in Victoria. I think the W should be silent. In London UK, Chiswick is pronounced "Chisick"
