Nice, love them! Great work, very sharp looking pics. It certainly photographs well that car, the Mk I can be quite a hard car to get the right angle.

The car never had much urge when I drove it and the exhaust note just wasn't right when it was cold started. It burbled and sputtered. I knew something wasn't quite right about the drive train. Anyway today, the dealer service rang to tell me the catalytic converter completely itself. So the whole exhaust system will be replaced pending parts. My alarm and scuff plates have been installed.
Its very disappointing that this happened so early on. Its had 60km when it started and 130km when the problem started again. I had barely had the thing for 24 hours now I'm driving a BA Falcon courtesy car which is okay but its got zero coolness factor. We don't suit each other at all!! I'm not too peeved anyway. I just hope they fix it properly and I'll get my gal back better than before. |

Aren't the alloy LS Focus Scuff plates nice!! I just love ours.
A stuffed catalytic converter will cause all sorts of little dramas in both performance and fuel economy. Good to see they've found the issue and are going to address it quickly. Our Zetec has only done 1700km but it's performance and economy is quite impressive for what it is. Ive not driven an Astra but have driven a Vectra (2.2 ltr) and the Zetec felt more lively. Hopefully when your Zetec has been fixed and it's got more kms on it it will go much better.

I'd be very surprised if when it's fixed you still think the Astra is smoother. Although I like the slightly raspy nature of the Astra's Family II, and it feels similarly torquey to the Focus (at least in the 'old' body Astra), the Duratec is much more composed right through the rev range.
Yup, Pure Silver is a winner. No wonder the Focus brochure is the only one I know of where the entire contents are only shown in one colour (a bit annoying when you're trying to see what 'looks right' and there isn't dealer stock to assist in the decision). Looks like sunglasses gravitate to that spot in front of the gearstick/selector. Mine have, too. |
