I am in possession of a 1985 Nissan Urvan and after having a look under it while it was up on a hoist, I noticed that the diff looked suspiciously like a Borg Warner unit that was fitted to X series Falcons/Fairlanes. Does anyone know if this is indeed the case?

Nearly everything used a borg warner in the 80s and 90s.
My 80's RWD corolla had a Borg Warner 4.11:1 and five-speed from factory! If i remember correctly, as long as it's 28 spline they're all pretty much interchangeable.
