Default Urgent Help Please

My mates house was broken into in the last few days not alot was taken but his keys to his ef fairmont were taken luckily the car wasnt stolen as it was locked in the garage with his dads saab parked behind it which he didnt get the keys for.

what can he do about making the car secure again, can he change the BEM and just reprogram his keypad to it (would this render the old keypad usless for this car??).

or what other suggestions do you guys have.

thanks
adam

Reprogramming new or existing remotes will erase any old ones that were programmed to the car. For this reason all remotes have to be programmed in one go. As for locks he will probably have to change them.

Go to a self serve wreckers and get the locks out of the doors, boot and the ignition barrel (make sure they have the key handy)

If you can take them out you should be able to replace them. An alternative is to replace the front door handles with rear door handles, so there is no keyhole. Then all that needs changing is the ignition barrel, which can be a bit tricky.
