Hi,
I have just bought a second hand set of 17" ANZ Mayhem wheels. They were off an ED Falcon. It seems they wont fit my EF Fairmont. The stud pattern is the same, also the bearing housing seems it will fit. I measured the stud holes and they are slightly smaller than the standard EF rims. That seems to be the problem :( I thought mags were standard across the E-Series? Only thing I can think of is drill the stud holes bigger in the mags..... Any help appreciated. Dan. |

unless it was running hub adapters to correct the offest issue they should fit if they were off an ED.. The stud spacing and size is all the same

ok i have rethought this for a sec
do the nuts not fit on, is that the issue you have? You might need barrell nuts.. I have to use barrel nuts on my AU but my wheels are ex-Japanese and the holes are not large enough for a nut and a convention spanner

The wheels wont go on far enough for the nuts to fit on.

are u sure there not hiting the stub axel.. u may need hub spaces.. D0 they fit on the back

i have 18' mayhems on my EF i think 17/18" would be the same...mine fit easy!

IS it only a problem at the front, you often have to hit the tyre on each side several times to bounce into onto the hub.

actually come to think of it.. does it fit on but not all the way? because when i first got my wheels and i took one off i found it hard to get back on but i ended up getting it on. then after changing my diff it fitted on alot easier

What you need is the bolts that go through the rim, they are skinny at the wheel end and have a normal head on them, that make sense

Sometimes wheels just get tight. I has a set of snowflakes on my car. when it came time to get new tires on another set of rims and **** the snowflakes off one side was totally stuck on the hub. The tire joint started hitting the inside of the tire with a rubber mallet. No luck. Then directly onto the rim, still wouldnt budge. He tried for ages. Then he tried a sledge against the tire and the stupid thing still didn't budge. In the end I told the guy to just belt the rim itself. while he belted it i kept turning the tire and after like 3 mins of constant belting it finally came off. The rim was pretty beat up.
Perhaps spray the hub with some light lube before putting the wheel on. it may help it slide on a bit easier. |
