my car has being vibrated with the exhaust popping at idle. There is no power loss during driving. No rough idle.
The interesting thing is that all the problems have gone when I push the accelerator slightly or turn on the air conditioner. It gets better even when I open the headlight. I have done the following jobs and nothing is changed 1. changing all 6 spark plugs 2. changing the air filter 3. cleaning the throttle body Any advice would be welcome. Thanks Last edited by horseman98; 11-10-2011 at 09:41 PM. |

probably not the cat then. hmm sounds strange. i guess just check all intake pipe joins and make sure their not leaking. and check out the exhaust side of things as well. look for holes or leaks.

Sounds a bit lean.....
Grab a can of degreaser and, one at a time, spray every joint in the intake setup. Any increase in revs will indicate an air leak. What colour/smell is your exhaust?

Thanks. I will do this job this afternoon if I have time. Smell and colour look like normal except popping at idle. |

That is it. I sprayed throttle body cleaner onto the intake gasket. The car vibrated hardly when I sprayed the first and second parts of the gasket. Then The car kept running like normal. A little while the problems came back I will change the gasket this weekend. But I noticed that the bolts on the bottom of the gasket were very difficult to reach. Any special tools should I take to undo and tight these bolts. Thanks |

Replacing the gasket has been done this morning. I feel good though it was a pain job. She runs pretty good now.
Thanks for your help. |
