Hi guys, have searched the forums but cannot find the info I need. looked at what I believe to be an xr6 Ute au 3. xr front, vct rocker, blue dash, 17 inch tickfird rims, manual, LSD tag diff. what concerns me is that there is no tickford plate in the engine bay. Is this normal or possibly a fake?

Just means it didnt have any options like premium brakes etc put on it at the time of build. It doesnt need to have a Tickford plate to be a genuine - my XR doesnt have one but it is most definitely an XR8.

My xr8 doesn't have a tickford plate either but was dealer fitted with most options. Plenty out there with no plates.

As stated by many others, do a VIN check and that will tell you; my AUII XR8 doesn't have a Tickford build plate; but the vin confirmed AUII XR8

yeah plenty of xr6 and xr8's don't have tickford plates
the only time you could get a VCT motor in a ute is if it was an xr6 if the block and vin numbers match up, then it's definitely an xr6 its not really like anyone's gonna fake an XR6 anyway.

Tickford only fitted plates in the engine on AUII when options were fitted at the Tickford factory.
No options no plates. Bill.
