What $$$ is a Supra these days ???
My mate who runs low 10's in his EB has std rotating assembly mild cam with decent valve springs, PWR w2a intercooler, C4 manualized.. Big plain bearing 700 h.p turbo. Reinforced std diff with spool 3.45 gears.. 160Lb injectors, 2 Bosch motorsport fuel pumps fed from custom in engine bay fuel tank..Runs E85.. Home built approved cage.. In a stripped out E series Falcon.. There's plenty of engines around to which you can add forged rods and pistons etc while still enjoying the budget ride.. A BTR in good nick with high line pressure, 2800 converter, 3.7 / 3.9 final drive is another option... Personally I would fit a Powerglide... They are so popular, do the job well...

if u want a street car go the Soarer as a few have mentioned. as dieseltrain79 said they are fast for little $'s.
honestly, you also need to look to the future. it's natural progression. once u go 11's you will want to go 10' once u go 10's u will want to go 9's once u go 9's u will want to go faster. why push an engine hard just run a low 11-sec pass? get a light car, run low boost that also means less maintenance, less $'s, wear and tear on the engine. that's why i thought that Nissan on my105 would be perfect for you. throw a 1JZ in there you only need to put in about 7psi and you'd run a 11.1 low boost, low comp, light car the engine could live forever. the other good thing is all you need to do it put a little more boost in and you can go quicker. you've got at least another 20psi to play with. with 25psi (which a 1JZ could handle easily and the bonus, they only cost $1000 fully assembled and good for 800hp) there is no reason you can't run a low-mid 9 when and if your ready to take it that far. and that's all with the same budget as you would spend on any of the other cars mentioned. 10K at your F6 turns it into a pretty quick, and yet fairly robust, 1/4 weapon!

His knowledge for how to do stuff is pretty good..Execution not too bad, the gear he has ok (needs an air ratchet and rattlegun). Most of all, his 'Roll up the sleeves and get in' mantra and the fact he puts himself on camera for all the world to see is amazing! Waiting for the next installment!

LOL, lucky I'm a "tuga" with thick skin.
I've got air tools but most of the time I prefer good old hand tools. It also shows you can do stuff like this without a garage full of gear. Seriously thinking about doing more to the EL Falcon and see where it takes us, but making sure we keep it budget orientated. If i could get tens for under $5K I'd be happy with that. |

So this is you? I must say I nearly cacked myself when you gave up on the Drop Saw. Mate I am super impressed with the fact you are doing the vids. What sort of time period did you do it all over thus far, and how long till we see ep14?

Yep, it's me.
No-one was more suprised about the drop saw than me. Brand new, had it for a couple months and that was my first chance to use it - then the blade explodes. Never trust the discs that come with saws or grinders. Epidose 14 is out - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Ss0k9ewJeI |

Legend! That was a little disappointing. Interesting you had to pedal that last run out the back, the track must have suffered with the rain. So Scotty, what's next. You don't seem to be the 'relax this weekend' sort of guy. What will keep you off the streets now?

Um, I've pretty much decided to keep the Falcon now and do a bit here and there to make it quicker, but keep it cheap. Do the odd update when I can. Got plans to do some of the other stuff in the shed though. Next yt project will probably be the VF valiant ute which is a full ground up rebuild. It'll be long term. As for the original poster, go the E-series for cheap drag action. You could go a six and keep it cheap, or spend a little extra up front and buy an EB-EL XR8 which will give you plenty more options.
