YES I would love too.

I went for about 2 weeks without going on the computer but I did have my phone on me, but I only use my phone for calls/text and not the 'net.

It was quite refreshing and amazing how much more you get done..LOL

The problem is that our society is now reliant on technology delivery information in a speedy manner. Nothing wrong with posting letters but people want it now, not next week.

No chance. Couldn't function without any technology. Mobile phone, computer and tv, I'd be struggling.

I couldn't do it.
I don't like leaving the house without my phone.

I could go without internet for a while. But meh, no point.

Was stopped at a set of lights on the way home from a job and 5 people were at a crossing - all 5 of them on their mobile.

Could I go without? Not with my job - would be impossible to do it without a mobile and I would be sacked within a day. In my down time, could easily achieve it.

Social networking? If my dopey friends didn't insist on using it to keep in contact, happily boot that one out of my life. I'll reluctantly use it a couple of times a week for a few minutes. It seems that texting became preferential over a phone call and texting is quickly being eclipsed by farcebook.

I've been there and done it..... for 6 months in fact.

Being deployed to Afghanistan does show you just how well life goes on without having a phone plastered to your head 24/7. Anyone who's been there will tell you that the 'local' Roshan mobile phone coverage sucks harder than a hoover, it isnt worth the frustration.......... Oh and they like to use mobile phones for far more sinister means, which was enough of a reason to stay the hell away from one.

If it was pre internet times (ie: I could watch TV and still have a video game console) then I could.

No TV and no video game, no chance.

Every 6 day break I get the computer / tv / phone / newspaper everything I just avoid...go fishing and working around my house . And when I'm in mining mode - well stuff all to do here so forums /tv / ebay every spare minute ..
I know which way I prefer it .....and can easily throw it all away .

i did it for three months last year, no contact with anyone or using any technology. i will admit though, it was because i was away with work.

It actually felt pretty good, usually go for about two weeks with nothing but three months didn't feel long at all, just got used to it.

You would not have enjoyed the 70s too much.

I'm taking a two week break next week. I've got a 14 night cruise, where I won't be taking my phone, and won't be paying for internet access.

The closest I'll be getting are the books and music on my iPad.
