Hi all,
I just found out that I have been accepted at La Trobe Uni to do Finance :. After finishing year 12 and not being made an offer, I am very happy to be recieving now what I was trying to achieve only 2 years ago. Is there anyone else here who has applied as a mature age student and has received a placement? Bill :thebirds: |

Congrats.
Are you at the Bundoora campus? If you are than you'll be happy there as they have everything you want. Bar nights are pretty good. I just finished there but it's a great campus. Cant help with the mature student question I got in straight away. |

Congratulations. I completed a finance degree here in SA a few years back.
Hopefully you find an academic pursuit in this field rewarding.

I'm so happy that once i get out, I will be able to realise the dream of owning an old school GT. Only three years away from making a dream come true. |

Totally agree there, but if I ever do reach such a position, as I want to eventually get into Gevernment, I would try my hardest to keep both sides happy. But in turn they will always, no matter what, someone be disadvantaged and its unfortunately a way of life. I believe definitely balance can be found with both being happy, but also having to make sacrifices.
I just believe Jonny boy is all once sided with the rich. If I am correct, Australia will go belly up and have a recession because poor out number the rich. |

Well for the time being going to throw all politic jargen out and enjoy an accomplishment which I have been killing myself to achieve for the last two years. But at the end of the day, wanting to buy an old school GT motivates me to do more and more, and that's why I believe that I will be doing everything in my power to achieve that, and to also buy house afterwards.
We got to have dreams to be able to do something with our lives, or else I believe it is a pointless life. Goals and aspirations are what keep me going, and is what is going to pull me through on successfully completing this degree. Thank you very much everyone. |

Rest assured it will get pretty tough, particularly as you move into final year. Sounds like you've got the right motivation to get you through the rough patches. Best of luck to you.

A degree in finance, isnt a pre-requisite for finance and accounting that you have to dispose of your personality prior to walking into your first lecture.
