Default Autometer Monster tacho in an EB

Hey guys, I bought a Cobalt Monster Tacho for Evlelf... i've mounted it, hooked up constant power, dash lighting, earth, and im left with the green wire that should go to the negative off the coil..

however i have a mate who has mounted a shift light, and run it off the Pink wire on the back of the S-pack dash.. i tried this and the guage didnt read the revs properly.. I was then told the only brown wire in the top right hand corner of the engine bay was the negative off the coil, so i tapped into that, and still.. its not reading rev's right. Somebody PLEASE help me..

Where does this green wire go??? Which wire behind the dash is the tacho wire??? Thanks, Mikal

And which one do i use?

if it's not reading the revs right, you may need to snip or join the loop wire on the back of the tach to suit 4,6, or 8 cyl

yeah make sure the wire on the back of the tacho is snipped correctly, and it is definatly a pink wire with a blue trace on the back of the cluster, as thats what i have tapped into in the ea and the ef

All sorted, thanks for your help guys, It was the pink wire in the loom connecting to the dash that i was supposed to tap into. I had tapped into the loom coming out of the dash. Works a treat now, Yes its snipped for 6 cylinder now

near your fuse holder/box theres a dianostic port theres a pink wire in that bottom left i think use that for the tacho read/neg of coil.and make sure you slip the right wire depending on what engine you have
