I dont think thats a GT Cortina. My old man had a 69 one.
Wonder what the XD will go for if no reserve?! Could be a good buy! |

I've often said that any car with flames looks good.
The exception was the Excel I once saw in Kangaroo Flat. That Falcon looks effing great!

I can see an HD Premier behind it too.
Looks like there's some old F-Series bodies there, it's always a shame to see one of them in that state. |

Hard to tell without a closer look...apparently they didn't all have stripes, it was an option. The badges would be the only exterior clue in that case.
This was our factory original (except for the mags of course) 1970 GT...the dash especially gives it away (the four gauges are set into the front top of the dash, not just whacked in) if someone is doing a replica, and I also seem to remember there were some suspension differences. The steering wheel was also a Ford branded one, and the extractors in ours were also branded "FOMOCO" To do a replica would be rather and expensive undertaking, and you probably wouldn't get your money back...they had a completely different interior to a normal Cortina from other ones I checked out at the time. Forgive the towel lying on the floor in the passenger side...and the box of cassettes (remember them? ) on the passenger seat. I really wish we still had this car... |

Dont mean to be rude buddy , but that photo of the original MK11 Cortina GT that you are very happy with isn't quite right , the black bonnet paint outs should be satin , not go to the front edge of the bonnet , the grill is black in the centre area and ally finish on the outside , and should have a split bumper , think that little original puppy may have had a smack before you guys purchased .

Yeah, that HD Premier is an X2 apparently, rare as rocking horse manure now days.
Had one, sold it, damn, same old story, life has lots of little regrets and big ones like getting married a 2nd time.

It had been repainted when we bought it, the stripes were stick-ons. It was legit though, had all the info from Ford and all numbers were correct. |
