plug in three pin plug join the 2 yellow/white wires together and then join 2 yellow wire on harness, then grey wire goes to yellow/red wire on harness. yay or ney?

sorry, altenator. I have a s2 ute with a 2pin altenator and the altenator light has been come on and off at random until today when it came on and stayed on. I have an s1 three pin altenator in the shed.

Came across this issue recently when converting my 6 to an 8. The 3 pin plugs only actually use 2 wires and they are the same colours as the 2 pin plugs! To use a 3 pin alternator you will need to simply change the connector on your main loom on the car side.
