Make sure you claim it on insurance. You get a lifetime guarantee with most now.

I had a Mazda3 in that colour; Velocity Red. Very nice colour.

Anyway a good panel beater can match that colour easy so don't worry about it.

Also I'm waiting for my new car so I can relate. My missus had her car keyed after 2 weeks as well. And it's just a Mazda2 Neo for crying out loud! You must be really pathetic to be jealous of that.

Purely conjecture but ...... as it is on the road side and going from front to back what chance a jogger or a kid with a screw driver riding a bike?

Definately feel your (or her) pain, the beamer got a nice big Key line a few months ago aswell. I wasn't angry, more dissapointed that someone would do it, just for the sake of doing it.
If I were jealous of another persons car, I wouldn't go damage it just to make myself feel better, and I don't know why anyone would. It's more of a motivation, to strive for one just like it.

Couldn't agree more. I was initially angry, then realised I'm just disappointed that people think like this. If I see a Ferrari at work, my last thought is to damage a beautiful car that has cost somebody something... I rest easy knowing there are people out there that care about other people and their possessions. There is good in the world, unfortunately the little Mazda found that little bit of bad.

I don't really care if it was an infant or somebody with a screwdriver, the damage is still the same...

It's ********. I am honestly just waiting for the day it happens to my car.

I park it in a garage at home and in a secure car park at work, but one time I know some low life will see it somewhere and feel the need to show how pathetic they are.

After most crimes, the criminal gets some sort of positive out of the act. But what do they get out of keying a car? Nothing, except a bit of self satisfaction that make themselves feel better as they drive there $200 heap of **** to the local centrelink to claim their tenth baby bonus with their drug addicted missus who has half her teeth missing.

Then that makes me feel better

Feel your pain mate, someone sideswiped the Mrs car at the trainstation last Friday. Whole back quarter panel pushed in, major damage to rear bumper and the best part..... No note.

What annoys me is that people who do these things think "oh well they probably have moneysso who cares". Nearly half my paycheck goes into cars... Its just how I choose to spend my money, Im far from rich but that sort of logic doesn't seem to phase these turds.

This is the problem of today's society, if the perpetrators get caught they are let off with a slap on the wrist and get away with it in most scenarios....
No one is held accountable which leads to no respect or values to other peoples properties or well being.

I don't think this is really a judicial issue, I think this is more a Aussie cultural thing - many people resent others' success. How often do we see successful people attacked for their wealth or hard work, heck even the government is on the attack half the time.

No it is not just an Aussie issue but most of the western world issue and I will not comment on political statements as they are just denigrating B.S.

Well as much as you want to ignore it culture is built on many aspects including politics. There is differences among Western nations. In Australia and England there is that tall poppy syndrome or resentment of nice things. In places like Germany and the US, it is the opposite. When people see someone successful they want to work hard and achieve it for themselves. Hence the rap scene in the US really built an image of success and wealth as a way of building its image. And ironically one of the biggest opponents of capping CEO pay in the US was the lower socioeconomic demographics who saw million dollar pay packets as a source of hope and a source of motivation.

Like it or lump it, you can link senseless vandalism of a 2 week old Mazda for no benefit back to the culture of a society.

Aussie culture is in the dump. Crime figures as role models and TV stars, do gooders with too much influence, lack of respect for others every where, clowns on ice with no jobs. This is no longer the country I grew up in.

Yep exactly right. Australians are crap like that. We don't value education or aim high, we're not ambitious and bag out anyone that is. Only footballers or cricket players are allowed to enjoy the money they earn.

Sounds like there's a research paper in this: 'Comparing rates of keying between countries with 'tall poppy' values and countries who have strong rapping scenes''

I saw a lady in a Benz attempting to squeeze into a park at the local camping store the other week.

She clipped the back of the 4WD already parked, pushed in a little further until the rear of the 4WD lifted up off the ground until she decided she wasn't gonna fit.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing as she reversed out, dropping bits of lense and trim everywhere and drove around to the next aisle, parked and walked straight into the store.

I grabbed pen and paper and sorted out a note with details.
As I walked over to the 4WD to leave it for the poor owner, I arrived at the same time as 2 other people all doing the same thing. There are good people around! But you only need one bad one to do the damage

In my job I see this or similar all the time. It's sad to see society go down hill, you'd be surprised how often people come in with damaged cars and no notes left.

Funniest, well not funny situation as such. Customer came in, she'd just been T boned in an older Subaru. The young girls who hit her had reversed and taken off from the scene of the accident (quite often it is girls who flee). Anyway, cops arrived etc, saying there was nothing they could do. Whilst cleaning up the mess the cops found the number plate from the offending car... Turns out it was a young girl, only had her licence a short period and I don't think she had insurance, she wrote the Subaru off and maybe her own car.

I got woken up at 2am by the police calling to ask me if I owned a blue TTR250 dirt bike, I said yea, thinking what a time to be catching up with me for something i might of done. They then asked me where abouts it was, i replied should be in the driveway..... They then proceded to tell me how they had been chasing it around palmerston (darwin) all night and that it is now burnt out in an alley way and i needed to go pick it up! They caught one of the 12YO half cast kids and had a lead on another boy who was involved! I never heard anything back about what happened to the little $hits they probably just got a slap on the wrist and let go, thank goodness i had insurance but still doesnt make up for what they did. Sorry to read about your missos misfortune and all you other guys getting keyed, it really makes you wonder what these people are thinking.

Yep, some people are "jealous" of you simply because you have, and they don't...it doesn't have to be a Bentley or a Jag, it can be as simple as "an car"...anything at all.

Glad to hear it's getting fixed...they're a great little car, and that's a nice colour.

Wonder why.

My sister clipped a 4wd when she was parking at my brothers footy game not long after getting her licence. She knocked off her mirror and put the smallest mark on this guys bullbar.

She noticed this guy get into his car and was about to leave, so she ran over to him and explained what happened. He instantly started screaming at her, abusing her and carrying on like an idiot. He hadn't even seen the tiny mark she had left on his bullbar.

If something similar happens again do you really think she will wait around? Probably not.

Why was the passenger side facing the road??? It's the drivers side that faces the road of a legally parked car. Only speculating, but was the car parked up on a footpath or facing the wrong way on the side of the road???

If yes that could be the cause of someone deciding to 'teach her a lesson' in parking etiquette. Not that that would be an excuse, and the person causing the damage should still be strung up by their balls.
