Question lower profile tyres?

hey guys,
i will be needing new tyres after x-mas probably as mine are starting to get bald.

i have the EB-spack 15" rims at the moment with tyres 205/65 (i think, ill check in the morning to double check that and also state what brand they are)

if i get a lower profile of 60 will this make my car look a tad lower as there would be a shorter distance from the centre of the rim to the outside of the tyre?

also what are the disadvantages/advantages of getting a lower profile tyre?

thanks

Daniel

go standard profile, chances are it'll be cheaper.
you'll also run into speedo calibration problems.

get superlows Daniel, that will make it look lower. Some 225/65/r15 would look nice and phat too.

your car sits damn high on lows Daniel, my EA is on lows, and the EB is on superlows, but they both sit roughly the same, so go figure. Some king superlows will deffinately drop your car down nice.

youd need to go for 225/60r15 as these are the closest to the 205/65r15 rolling diameter, but your cheapest option is sticking with the 205/65r15s

The number 60, 65, etc is for the ratio of the sidewall height vs the width of the tyre. Your 205 profile tyre is 205mm wide, and the sidewall profile of 65 = 65% the height of the 205mm width (or 133.25mm high). So, if you wanted 225s, you'd want a 60 profile (which will give *roughly* 133ish mm sidewall height).

I found 215/60/15 the best of the lot on a 7" rim225's where just to sloppy.
