Default AU Fairmont Live Axle to IRS, is it relatively easy to change over?

Hey,

I'm wondering how easy it would be to convert the standard live axle in my AU fairmont to an IRS setup. By having it converted, will it have a better ride quality being low(lower then SSL). As I've heard IRS cars go lower and have a better ride quality.

Cheers.

If you wanna know how hard it is, look at BBQBurners EL with AU IRS. You'd have to do the same mods as what he did to make the IRS fit.

I was assuming that the AU fairmont may have the mounts considering it has all the other GHIA pre mounts?? Can anybody confirm this!

There are components of the Live Axle that are physically in the way.

the watts link mounts for example needs to be removed, then the mounts for the IRS cradle installed through the chassis rail.

as Tony said, the same steps apply.
