Default Gad! Stupid FireFox!

It's gone and done its wonderful trick of losing all my bookmarks and settings on me! IIRC, there is a way to get it all back, anyone know what it is?

http://www.opera.com

No idea how to restore your bookmarks etc, but how does Firefox store the information? In like a user profile directory?

Try this

http://home.att.net/~cherokee67/fflostbkmk.html

Seems it is a common problem from searching on Google.

look for a bookmarks.html file for your Firefox bookmarks.
As for settings, don't know, but I'd say bookmarks are alot more important. Always keep a backup somewhere, so even if you lose the ones since your last backup, that's only a few instead of all.

Yeah this has happened to me a few times, I just keep a backup of my bookmarks.html incase it goes wrong. Even with these problems I still prefer it to IE.

Its pretty good considering you don't pay anything for it, can't see microsoft doing the same if they made firefox.

If this happens, open your task manager(Ctrl+Alt+Del), mark the Firefox session in it(the one which you think is not in use) and end the task. Close Task Manager and open another session of Firefox, should fire right up with all bookmarks etc.

IE is free, the people behind trying to split IE from Windows would have made it cost $ and make Microsoft more money :nutsycuck

Most pages are IE compatable where as only one or two of the plethora of other browsers are fully supported if any by most sites.

Or update to version 1.5 which will warn you that an instance is already open.
