Dude sorry to say but Port Kennedy / Rockingham and surrounding is Balga by the Beach (A SHIIT area thats close to the beach basically) and about 40 - 50 mins drive from Perth city.
Not much to do there, only a couple pubs and clubs. You'll probably have more luck in the city ! Girls are easy around that area though !!! : EDIT: Fuxake stupid swear blocker |

Hi ya, I live in Perth and there isnt much around especially at this time of the year.
The beaches are great tho and Port Kennedy is half way between Rockingham (I Think) and Mandurah, There is a concert in Mandurah on Boxing Day Spiderbait and a few other WA bands are playing if your into that sort of thing, otherwise you can do all the touristy things in Mandurah, Hire a Boat go fishing and Crayn and there are plenty of places South of Mandurah to go MX riding or 4WD. Otherwise you could catch a ride to the city bout 3/4 of an hour to an hour away, but most things will be closed. You could check out Kings Park popular for the romantics. There is a tourist web site that can be helpful just type in Perth or Mandurah and away you go. Good luck and try to enjoy your stay, Oh and I would suggest you hire yourself a nice fast car and go for a long drive, I've been told WA is the best place in Oz to do that our roads are better. |

Damn straight! It's damn hard to find any chick under 18 without kids!! On a serious note, if your old enough to drink (??) Mandurah is your best bet. It has 4 pubs/clubs, which is 3 more than rocko. The new area of Port Kennedy is not too bad, but there is nothing to do down that way. Stay out of Kwinana, and you will keep your wallet and won't cop a bashing.......... Catch a bus up to Freo. Check the beaches, Little Creatures ( pub ) and the 'Cafe strip' of South tce to see countless 'laps' by boguns and 'P' platers alike.. There's the maratime Museum and the roundhouse too. Good tourist attractions.. You HAVE to go to 'Pizza Belaroma'. Nicest Pizza- anywhere... Go early, the queue has been 20m long out the door on a Sat ngt!!!! Past Freo to Cottesloe, put your eyeballs back in your head. If your a young tosser with cash to burn, hang with the folk at teh 'Cott'. It's the place with all the people at....... Then up to Scarborough for some more bog lap action and cops abound.. The beach there is quite nice, and the 'scenery' is superb. Forget the city of Perth, there's nothing in it, unless your shopping on a Sunday. Kings park and surrounding parklands are nice.. Night Life is Northbridge. Don't walk alone after dark.... actually, it's getting better... Not to worry.. If you hire a car, go to Margaret river. Must see location. About 3 1/2hrs drive south.. Wine and beer country, but take your credit card.. Other than that, Let us know what ur into, we'll try to send you in the right direction! It's a good place, and bring your sunscreen, you out-of-towners will fry. If your a youngin, and can't drink............................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ..... .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ....................... .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ....................... Enjoy your stay..... |

Port kennedy isnt really inbetween Mandurah and Rockingham, id say its just stuck onto the southside of Rocko ^_^.
If you cant be bothered going up to Freo or Perth, just hang around at the beach allday at Palmbeach. Or there is the walk along the sandbar to Penguin Island, not often you can say you just walked to an island 400odd metres out at sea heheh. Nightlife at Rockingham is usually at the 'Swingin Pig' (younger crowd then other places), Then a bus to the huge choice of clubs *cough* urrrr, 'The Vibe' and 'Liquids' (Likko's, to the locals XD). Just remember you wont get into The Vibe wearing a Ford/Holden shirt, something about fights breaking out after Bathurst, i dunno. Or forget about what i said and go to Zeldas. : :

Cant say I have had the pleasure of the night life down that way, so I will take your word for it, howeva I'm originally from Mandurah and spent alot of time in Kwinana so I would like to think that not all the chiks down that way have a bad rep.
I will also be heading down for a look on Wednesday, I hope everyone gets the results they are looking for and no breakages. And I'm real excited bout the nitro's.......... |

Unfortunately that is the reputation young girls down this way (Kwinny or Rocky Chix) have. However its just that - a generalisation, Usually the ones that don't fit that label leave town. I've lived here since '88 and still enjoy going to the Pig tho and there is still a great bunch of people down here (altho the nightlife is fairly limited, i'd rather go to northbridge or freo any day!).
XR06T, Whereabouts do you work? Jeldwen, I live quite close by Pt Kennedy if you see a Narooma blue V8 (not XR) Yoot with sports bars around rocky thats me! |

I was in Perth last year on Boxing Day for a week or two. I love the place. I can't really help because we stayed close to the city, but there are some really nice pubs/clubs around the area. Cottesloe (spelling?) Pub was nice in the arvo and picked up pretty good. Everyone says how good the Perth Cup is on New Year's Day, so I wouldn't miss that again :( Three of my bros went and had a ball.
Yer, the chicks are hard to pick-up, not that I tried LOL!! :P But damn, the talent over there is A1.

I was their a couple of weeks ago, and we mainly checked out the nightlife in northbridge, cottesloe and freo. Perth city its self seemed to have no real nightlife. The burswood casino is full of old people, lol.
Supermarkets etc generally close early at like 6pm and nothings open on sundays, which is a pain in the ****. And perth seems to have a large police presence, well more than melbourne anyway.
