Unless you have an offsider to assist you and guide you out.
I lived in Goondiwindi for ages and never had a problem with backing out of a main street park, if you take it slow there is no issue with looking ovr your left sholder while reversing. That combined witht he 40kph speed limit, cars have plenty of time to stop if they see you coming out.

I honestly never saw an accident caused by this style of parking (not saying it didn't happen, just that I have never seen it happen).

I usually find that towns with nose in parking have enough space to reverse out and not actually be in the flow of traffic, rather like an additional lane.
I prefer it to reverse parking any day of the week

Safer? for who ?

Reverse in parking in a Country Town Main St (ie main highway) means that when you see a parking spot you have to stop then reverse into the traffic, assuming that the person behind you has left enough room for you to manoeuvre back into it. In a busy st this usually causes major traffic build up.

Along with the fact that people trying to park like this angle their car at anything from 90 to 25 degrees.

Front in parking means that when you see a parking spot you simply drive in. When you have to reverse out you don't reverse out into traffic unless there's space to do so. No traffic is held up.

You're thinking about reversing across a centre line, implied or otherwise.
