Default track results new cam

went out to willow bank toinight to have a run after fittin the new cam and did a best of 15.49 @91.3 mph, most runs were around 15.5 /15.6 ,the best mph i got was 91.8 , the best 60 footer i could manage was a 2.393 the track felt as greasy as, everyone was struggling to get off the line.i was pretty disapointed until i saw a xr6 turbo ute struggling to do 15.5 . i can't wait untill winter comes and can give it a run in some cool air.was a good night they boys loved it.

Jake.Something else is up mate. I have been reassessing my mods since my 15.1 quarter run. Just by removing 2 mods my times have improved 0-60 kmph by .1 second. I would be looking at resistance of moving parts and driveline.

The single biggest factor to get really good times is not a cam, head or exhaust. The biggest power booster for me has been an air temperature of 14 degrees celcius in the middle of winter.

But looking at my car personally..if it needs cold weather to go fast then its not fast enough. What were the temps like?

Nik,

it was a real hot one and not the day for a PB or a good day for a comparison really.

You don't see people posting up their test and tune slips only their PB's so you think this is worse than it is.

useless and I have been tuning our old auto falcon wagons to be qtr kings and trust me it isn't easy and you you do get plenty of disappointments along the way. Look at my latest times posted and this was with a new Unichip and 3.45 diff and only a 0.2 sec gain on the qtr! Again on a hot day. Track temp almost 60 degrees!

Nik, a mate of mine was out there in his Commie on Sat night, a solid mid 13 second car and he did four runs and his best was 13.92.. The conditions were half a second slower than when we last went in October

jonbays ,your right it's not a good thing to compare times you run in winter with one's you run in summer.i reckon it's got some times in it i'll just have to wait untill the weather cools down again.
