thanks MITCHAY. That's pretty dam good economy if your treating your car like that in those conditions. Im just curious as the rising price in fuel has got me on edge with any vehicle I plan to purchase in the future. If the price of fuel get's too ridiculous, either a deisel 4 cyl or a pushbike could be the next best thing. :(

The best economy i think ive got was when i used $30 worth of petrol in 2 weeks. The TX5s are good cars and by no means slow for what they are.
My car (TX5 Ghia) has all the extras like A/C, power windows, power mirrors, ABS, IRS, disc brakes all round (ventilated front brakes), velour interior. Not many other cars for that age offer that much. |

gday guys ive got a (cough) MX6 turbo 4WS wich is prety much a telstar coupe and man it flys.
ive just been reading this thred and have a few Qs 1 someone said they put a BOV on their engine.how did you get it to idle and run proply with the metered air going out through the BOV every time you back off, i tryed it and it used heaps of fuel had less power and had a bad miss at idle, i put the factory BOV back on (plumb back) and it flys and idle normal but i must say i did like the noise the Vented BOV made when changing gears psssssshhhhhhhttttt lol 2 were can i get one of those digital clusters???? the only diffrence i can see from TX5 to MX6 clusters is that the MX6 one goes up to 240kph cheers Rod by the way i swaped a nice ED for the MX6 |

I had a BOV on my old TX5 turbo (2.2L TURBO) it was a TurboSmart VeePort Type 2 and it went faster with it on. (holds boost unlike worn out BPV) It ran fine, what type of BOV is it?

So I guess I would be looking at getting around 500+ km per tank in normal driving conditions? yeah?

Do you have any specs of what this car is capable of performance wise? i.e. 1/4mile, 0-100kph etc. Also what is the standard turbo capable of and what is the maximum you could do to the car without opening it?

i dont know what brand it was but a mate had alook and said it was stuffed. wile it was idleing it was sucking air and thats what caused the bad idle i think. have you got any pics of your BOV fitted on your car id like to see how you done it to get an idea? and what about your standard BPV how did you block it off or are you running that as well as the BOV cheers Rod |

I did my first mod on my 626 turbo.
A CAI, how exciting I also have a genuine Mazdaspeed Foam Airfilter coming in the mail that was from Japan. Will be getting sent off the panel beaters soon to have a new coat of paint, then to autobarn for immobiliser and tint.

I have just got a 1991 tx5 gt i was told that the camber comes standard set at 2.5, would this cause more movement on the road in the form of not riding stright, and tyre wear on this inside.
