Hi everyone
Hoping you can help me out with my EB Ghia (long story below). The other day I had a phone charger plugged into the front cigarette lighter. I was wiggling the charger around, trying to get it to sit properly, when the dash lights flickered and smoke starting coming out from either side of the radio/cigarette lighter. I quickly shut the car off and waited for the smoke to clear, and discovered the cig lighter fuse had melted but not blown (lesson learnt- don't buy fuses from the servo). After pulling the radio fascia out, I discovered that the power and ground to the cig lighter had overheated, melted their insulation and fused together, causing a short. I fixed these up and put everything back together, and realised my climate control unit no longer works. When I start the car, the climate control flickers on for a second and then dies. When driving along, the unit randomly flashes on and off, with all LCD segments lit up (e.g 88.8 degrees celsius). Does anyone know where or what I should be looking for, other than buying a newer car? |
