Lightbulb Falcon Raffle - Would you buy a ticket?

Suppose a “reputable” organisation ran the following raffle, to publicise their organisation, promote Falcons, help worthy families, and in a small way sell a couple of Falcons.
Assuming it could be run for minimal expense, they could get an insurance company to include say 2 years comprehensive insurance, and Ford would come to the party with competitive pricing to make it all work.

The revenue from each raffle would be circa $100k. 2/3 would go to provide the prize, a new GT or F6. The remaining 1/3 would go to purchase a new EcoLpi or EB Falcon (with insurance and 2 years servicing) which would be given to a worthy family.

Families under consideration would be Diggers’ widows, disabled Vets, families where the main bread-winner had become disabled without recourse to compo, country families with sick kids, etc, etc.
Families would be nominated by respective charities on a rotating basis.
(There would be a lien registered on the car for two years, to allow sale only in desperate circumstances.)

Raffles would be “held” as often as ticket sales allowed. Start off a few times per year, building to monthly, then weekly.

Kudos to Mike for the seed of the idea.

Not a bad idea, however not everyone wants/needs a Falcon. Maybe Ford could make a variety of cars available or prize could be any Ford vehicle to the value of $$. The winner could then decide on which vehicle best suits them.

How many people buy tickets though when they raffle them off in shopping centre concourses?
More or less the same thing.

it depends on the "worthy family / cause"

there are several causes i wont support, so thus would not buy a ticket for them.

the idea is good, though

13.33% I’d buy a $100 ticket (only 1,000 tickets) once a month.

You would spend $1200 a year on raffle tickets?

I would love to buy Tickets to win a NEW Falcon but, I can't. My mate, who shares my home, works for someone that has Ford as one of their franchises. :(

I have a standing order to debit my credit card for a ticket in a lottery where the prize offered is usually GT. The tickets aren’t $100 though.
However some of us could afford that, and there would be a much greater chance of actually winning the car. (Of course like any lottery you could spend years buying tickets every month and not win a cracker.)
The point of this concept was more that almost every cent invested would go towards putting more Falcons on the street. And that's not to say that the formula couldn’t be tweaked, eg less raffles, more tickets, 1 GT as the prize and say 3 families get a Falcon.
Not saying my original formula was necessarily the perfect way to do things, really more interested in gauging reaction to the concept. ie do Ford Enthusiasts support the idea, and would there be enough to make it work, and as part of that whether people think it would actually have any impact. The number of extra cars wouldn’t be significant, but could it attract positive publicity and public credibility?
Do Ford enthusiasts even care?

Would be interesting also to see whether Ford were interested in supporting the idea in any way? Run of the mill shopping centre car lotteries have become so passé, I doubt Ford or even the dealer really offers a significant discount.

As a general rule, I don't buy raffle tickets. I support charity's with donations (Royal Children's Hospital, Peter Mac foundation, The Red Cross and that's it, apart from buying an Anzac pin every year).

If I want to put money down for a price I have little to no chance of winning, lotto is the go for me.

I don't believe any car brand gets any publicity out of donating their vehicles, apart from helping the charity they are donating to.
