Default XR8 Utes in the UK!

A Pommy bloke that works for me (Dave) has just purchased a (black) MkII BA XR8 manual ute to send home to the UK. His uncle owns a large BMW dealership in southern England and will take delivery from the wharf for him. His uncle looked on the Ford Aust. website to check out the new car and asked if he wanted to swap it for a brand spankers 325i. Dave considered it then thought, "Bugger that!". So he went back to the dealer and bought another ute exactly the same for his uncle! His uncle's going to paint the ute up in full BMW works colours and use it as a promotional vehicle for the dealership. Thanks to Aussie Car Enhancements (site sponser) Dave's just purchased a Di Fillipo exhaust, Bluepower cai and a Flash to load in the back of the ute and send back as well.
This all started after he saw my sedan and started talking Fords (he already owns a Series 1 RS Turbo Escort and his mum's got a Cosworth Sierra). I took him for a spin and now he's hooked. He can't wait to get back, fit all the parts and show England "Who's the BOSS"....I've given him this site address and will be hassling him non-stop to ensure that he keeps us all up to date with going's on in Blighty.

Here's another thing we'll be showing the Pom's "how to do"!

I came across a site once where a guy sent an EL/EF XR6 back to the UK. They love the Aussie fords over there. He sold the car eventually. Interesting to hear the reaction from the XR8

Vauxhall have a HSV Maloo R8 as a promo vehicle and supposedly Topgear wanted to test it along side the F150 lightning but Vauxhall said no. They also wont let the UK journos have a play with it either.

BTW, the said Maloo now has a supercharger attached to the LS2.

That is awesome and I am guessing they are loaded to afford the fuel prices.............. Would be magic to travel overseas and see one of our pride and joys driving around.

Sure you're not confusing it with the Granada?
