Default mk2 Mondeo cruise indicator

Hi all
I believe every newby is allowed one stupid question so here is mine:

I have 1 1997 GLX Mondeo hatch but the cruise control doesn't work. Before I even start to sort that out I need to know where the cruise "on" indicator light is. The owner's handbook and manual are both silent on this yet the wiring diagram clearly indicates there is supposed to be one.

I have carefully examined the instrument cluster with a torch and can't find it and when I "google" the cluster the indicator light appears to be where my "seat belt" warning light is (ie adjacent to the high beam light) ??????

some advice please

jd

Default Re: mk2 Mondeo cruise indicator

I have now fixed the cruise and it works! - it had the wrong IIM in it (from a non cruise car??) however I still have no dash indicators either for cruise "on" or cruise "set". Surely this can't be the standard? I have driven 1990 falcons that managed that feat so surely a 1997 car like the Mondeo would have figured that out.

Hopefully someone can show me where I'm wrong and the indicator light does exist?

educate me please
