Sumps need modifying or swap with Escort sump..Depending if its from rear or front sump..
The radiator bracket needs trimming and bolted directly to front panel moving it forward and its easier to change outlet direction of thermostat housing for radiator hose.. TMK the Mexico was a 1600 ?? Love the flares etc on them..

the sumps are different. I assume by cradle you are talking about the crossmember? they are different, I assume the engine mounts are different and the exhaust travels out a different side of the car. the front struts are also different.

http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-...-597751350.htm But it would be cheaper to get your sump modifyed, and to suit your current crossmember. And the Mexico's were 1600's sounds like you are building a RS2000 replica

Crossmember physically same dimensions for 1600 Kent & 2lt Pinto, 2lt had a stronger baseplate though. Mexico was a 1.6lt Pinto.

the proper 2lt escort sump is actually a rare item now. Seen a few 2lt Cortina sumps bashed in around the cross member to fit lol. No sure ,may have a sump somewhere. |
