The more the better. Espeacially clubs that cater for different cars. Falcon or FPV, Tickford based or small cars.

Each to their own, and there is no way of stopping it.

Most of these clubs start due to personal differences................

Well at least it has the reaction I was hoping for - it is good to have any car club as long as it represents the Ford Brand. The idea of having clubs that cater for ALL Fords whether it be FPV - Tickford - etc. the better.

: I think you choose a club for what your interests are like car events, shows,Cruises or just friendship with a group of people with the same interest and passion as you. And if that club isn't catering for those members or at least appreciating their efforts either big or small then you choose another..that simple. :eclipsee_

I chose a club because they had the closest meeting location for me and I met some members and they spoke my langauge.

I chose my club because they were the only ones out there advertising their existence. Plus seeing F6's, GT's n GTP's along with GXL's and multitudes of hot XR's all in the same carpark was just too much for me to pass up

Hi Vino302 - If some of the clubs were not so selective and took more standard model and makes of Fords it would be a good move. I love seeing any car that is in good nick and looks great - cost or age is not a factor.

From today ORSM FORD CRUISERS CLUB SA , has changed it's club constitution in regards the membership requirements. The requirements for entry in the OFCC-SA are now as follows,
Any modified ford, regarless of make, model or year

James, we have had a few bumps getting things underway, but this i suppose can be expected with anything new or a bit different, with your comments you are very much on the money ( there is room for this type of club ) without taking away from the many other great clubs out there.

Daniel ( Theboss290 ) has stuck with the few bumps and now boasts around 14 odd (Potenial) members in a few short weeks.

Looking at the guys and girls getting involved combined with a desire to add muttiple options to events and meets, ie the split cruise ( which when first suggested was a bit ?? what are these guys doing to now being hey a darn good idea, those with little ones or just wanting to put along can take the shorter route, what this also does is allows us to set up for the main group for when they arrive but also allows those that want to save a few $ in running costs to also be involved )

We also have on the cruise a mini segment with Matt on how to keep you car looking nice while cruising, and this can be just for those kicking back while we cook the bbq.

without waffling on to much what i have seen here is these guys all exited they all have some part to play within the club and by opening the doors ( and credit to ORSMXR chris for this ) to all fords has really been a winner.

I stress though we still need the other clubs, E series, X series FPV etc, but we plan to invite these guys along as well to some meets cruises and would like to think the same is replicated.

this allowing all clubs to share a little in the work load often placed on a few.

Its all Ford and Its All Good.
Pete

Know how you feel - I used to belong to a GT club and a lot of the members thought that the new FPV GTs should not be part of the club. Thought your car was a peice of ИИИИ, fantastic plastic, - My comments - christ if you don't like to have the newer model GTs in your club, why the ИИИИ do you invite them to join.

By the way - a few of the QLD members are coming down to the North Coast Street Machines on Sunday 16 January being held at the Ballina Ruby League Ground. Should be a good day out if you wanted to come for a run. Let me know and I will give you the details. I am travelling up from Sydney for it. Went last year and had a good day out.

Yeah but theres a difference between clubs and forums.
Alot start due to personality differences, specialising in a era of models, specialising in certain types of motorsport etc.....

But yeah, can never have to many FORD clubs!

I joined my club (Tickford Owners Club of NSW aka FPV-Tickford Club of NSW) as an associate member because it was the only Ford club that catered for modern Fords at the time. Even though I wasn't a full member till I got my first XR.

Sure there were tought times, and I did toy with the idea of a general modern Ford club for a while there, but in the end I've stuck with them. I mean, if I don't like someone in the club, well tough - if I don't think the committee is doing their job, I will make it known, like I have in past while Graham was the president.

I am also a member of the Thunderbird Owners Club of Australia. When I first joined, I had a Lincoln Continental Mark IV and as there were no clubs for Lincolns, the Thunderbird Club allowed you to join as full members. I am still a member of the Thunderbird Club even though my car is a FPV Super Pursuit. I am still able to attend a lot of the meets they go to but am on the outer at particular shows like All American Day etc. The good thing about the club is they welcomed me not an intrusion but as a person who does appreciate cars whether they be classic or modern. I am also on the National Executive Commitee and have all full voting rights within the club. The other members of course do love their Thunderbirds but have also shown an appreciation of the modern car. We do have other members who have other cars instead of a Thunderbird. They only condition is that it must be of Ford parentage.

I have joined the new FPV Falcon Tickford Club also as this is a club that has a purpose of allowing any Ford Falcon branded car into the fold. This will allow a lot of people with Fairmonts, Futuras etc the chance to join a club and show off their pride and joy.

One thing I hope this new club will do is to also have overnight cruises instead of just a day cruise. Would be good if you could go for a cruise to say Kiama, book into some affordable accommodation, have a night out with the gang, enjoy a few drinks, dinner, and then cruise back the next day. I like a few drinks but do not drink when on a day cruise as I have to drive. An overnight cruise is the ideal run with a club and I hope the new club will give it a try and see how it goes. You can only see what eventuates and if any club does not measure up to your ideals you have the option of not renewing your subscription and look around for something else.

Ciao - James

Good luck with that! Whenever we wanted to organise an overnight cruise somewhere the support from members was never there! Maybe the other club will have a different demographic but it never worked for us.

over night cruises are the best, can't get enough. The club I'm in has one every 2 or so months and we always seem to have approx 30-40 cars each time.It makes for a great night out and you have a better chance to get to know fellow clubies.

Sounds great - as mentioned before, the Thunderbird Club in QLD does a lot of overnighters - great fun and it is not that expensive if you can get a deal.
