Default Power window switch - where to get them?

Hi all -

After my driver side window on my AU III malfunctioning and narrowing it down to the switch underneath the panel and simply swapping it over with the passenger side as a temporary fix, I really want to get it fixed permanently now. I've tried cleaning it's contacts but it didn't help. Where can I find them for a good price? I tried looking on ebay but couldn't find anything, perhaps i'm not typing the right words in...

New single power window switches are only $35 from Ford, that's what I paid for the front passenger one in my XR.

Im trying to locate a new passenger window switch for my AU III Fairmont. They are no longer available from Ford. Does anyone know of a replacement I can use and how to adapt the wiring?

If FTG don't have them in stock then try Bayford Fords. Or as suggested, try cleaning them. Easy once you know how, just a bit of metho to clean the connections, I got another few years out of mine.

Ok so after fixing up my AU2 Fairmont last year, it was pranged and I forgot to raid it before selling the wreck....so guess what I have to do all over again....

I just spoke to a Ford dealer and they now get stock of the driver side control switch from an aftermarket company...looked on ebay and I think its the same crew..but Ford want $140...yeah right.

Anyway they dont have much of a clue when it comes to sourcing the single switches.

Now mine are illuminated and I really wanted to keep that but Im starting to think I will just swap the lot out as buying used is only delaying the inevatable..atleast new/aftermarket should last a bit longer.

Other option is maybe super gluing extensions to the worn legs in the switches, if thats the problem.

Anyone else gone through this recently?

Well I got some time last night to check the switch on the faulty window, tried it on a working window and its ok.

I can hear the window trying to go down (its already all the way), and something engaging, but attempting to go up yeilds nothing...not even a sound.

So I am going to buy a new master switch as the system is linked, but for $60 off ebay not the $140 the dealer wants....for the same thing! Its not even an OEM part.
