What ever the case, a percentage of these bikers were acting like total knob heads and have brought all bikers down in the eyes of the public, not to mention getting scrutiny from the police, they have done their own cause huge damage.

An interesting or rather, pretty disturbing addition to this sick incident is that there were 2 or possibly 3 undercover police riding with this mob who did ZERO to help the couple being attacked for fear of blowing their cover!
It's also been revealed that a church going good Samaritan stepped in and probably saved the guys wife.... http://nypost.com/2013/10/06/good-sa...ntense-danger/

Interesting that the guy reckons he was just looking for a mate.

It looks like he is downshifting to me even if he wasn't braking but I don't know how to ride a bike so leave that to you riders to pick at.

Oh I'm sorry, Is there a new rule to give way to ********* who think they own the road? Must of missed that part on the road rules section.
From what I saw the RR was just driving down a freeway and freeway speeds when a bunch of bikes approached from BEHIND and surrounded him and the one in front deliberately slowed down to annoy the driver or cause an accident.

If you looked up these guys, and other videos of them, you would see they are known douche bags. So somehow I doubt this was a big misunderstanding.
Also Convoys are a illegal. This video shows a perfect reason why.

Methinks I know who the dick head is Tyson...
Matey, I'd Love to see how YOU would've handled the situation if you were merrily punting along in your car with wifie & kid and a 100 empty headed thugs surrounded you?
Do tell?
Have a bloody think before you type crap..,

*******
like a majority of bike riders up here in my area are

no offence i knwo some really sensible bike riders, and i work with them, but then theres the other ones
tailgating thru the hills within a fot of your bumper and overtaking on double white lines with blind corners ahead and then give you absolutely filthy looks when they cruise past as close as they can of course
they seriously think they own the road

and these clowns in the video?
nothing will happen
will prob identify 5 out of the 50 or so

An indication of the sorry state of the human gene pool. Yeah there were the "hoodlum bikies" around in the 50's and 60's ... always have been to some extent. But I do think they're getting worse today. Make no mistake, there are plenty of good bikers, but crikey there's a hell of a lot from the defected gene pool.

Terrible thing to happen. Bikers were acting like dicks in the beginning and then everything that happened afterwards just made it worse and worse. What do people think will happen when they break check a car though?

Have to say though I'm surprised that in such a huge group of Americans none of them had guns.

These types of threads are kind of different since the absence of one prominent member.. Don't know what the story is there.

IMO the only thing that the video shows is that the biker at the start provoked the incident. The driver probably took off because he was in genuine fear for the safety of himself and his family.

there is a story on the abc site that at least 6 people have been arrested & charged over this, and one is a NY detective. He was off duty at the time & originally claimed he had ridden on before this started, but was filmed attacking the RR. He has been charged with riot & criminal mischief.
So far the driver of the RR is facing no charges.

I am a bike rider and believe me that was a quite deliberate brake test

Guess he was riding an unroadworthy bike as his brake light dosen't work, but his suspension tells a different story.

The driver did the right thing, he was quite restrained I thought.
No way even 50 bikers can win against a 4WD on the move.

The guys I know all said they'd do whatever necessary to keep their family safe. Even if it meant backing up into a group of bikers. At that point their main objective would be their family. If I were sitting in the passenger seat you can bet that I'd be freaking out and scared in that situation.

I haven't heard much about that incident recently, but last I heard Christopher Cruz, the biker who did the break check, got arrested for reckless driving and unlawful imprisonment. He still claims innocent though. Yea, right *sarcasm*.

Here's a link that shows more of the incident (6:27). You can see how the biker with the GoPro waves his arm calling other bikers to go up front and you can see the sheer numbers of the bikers who were cruising together. At about 5 minutes in when the RR exits the freeway one of the riders attacks the RR and gets the door open. This is the 2nd time a biker was hit by the RR. But wow, what a scary feeling watching this. It's like watching a hunt in the wild or watching a swarm of bees attacking something.
http://globalgrind.com/2013/10/04/re...-photos-video/

*sorry to bring this thread up again. i just wanted to add my thoughts*

When I saw this video a couple of weeks ago I was amazed at the restraint the driver had. If it was me with the family in the car in that rangerover, none of those guys on bikes would be fully functional today. He was in the right machine to stop any harm coming to his family and he hardly used it. I really couldn't believe he kept driving in a straight line, maybe I've just played too much GTA in my lifetime... but I was watching the video thinking dude.. the guard rail is right there, paint it already.
