Default 80RRY - Copied.

hey guys how you doin,

well, thsi is really just a rant, but being an AU ute owner i always look out for other AU utes, and whilst mine generally stands out ( red, lowered, bright white 19's ) as some of you may of seen from photos on here, it no longer does.

4 months after doing externally to what i have on my car, someone has copied it, i have seen this ute before with stocko ford wheels, however he is now running around with almost if not exactly the same rolling stock as my own...

whilst imitation is meant to be the biggest compliment, it still angers me.

sorry guys

/rant off

Seems to be the way now. Unless you can get something that is either no longer avaliable or a one off..... or simply custom made to your own specs, you will find that someone without any imagination will look at somthing good and simply copy it. Such is life.

Does this ute have the same number plates as you?

That would be the only way I could pick the difference if it was you or not...

Gee...XR50 kit anyone? Or perhaps TS50 kit on a 4.0? You are right of course casper, but when there are only limited options in the aftermarket, of course a lot of cars start looking similar. Look at carratt's & Bucky's cars - apart from wheels and colour, externally they are the same. Then sfr_robs and WILD6s are the same too (no spoiler on TS kit).

This is why an XR wagon with TS skirts is the way to go. No-one else is stupid enough to copy that.

Yeah, even the XR50 bar is now no longer unique although still rare enough to catch the eye of most people. Still, different rims, different colour and even a different spoiler (such as Bluedrivers) can make a car stand out even with some "standard" of the shelf items.
The wagon is going to be very unique, at least for a while. Cant see too many people making a direct copy, rims and all, so it will stand out in a big way for a long time.

When the rear gets done on the wagon. I cringe at saying this but it wont be all that unique after a while. That doesn't bother me to much because I will be on of the first (if not the first) with the entire kit. That is why I am going to have a respray to a pearl colour in a few months.

JC Your wagon is quite unique and I love the front on a wagon. Wagons have the best styling.

very similar, i only saw it as it drove past work, i have the black rugby number plates, and this ute also has black plates on it, i dotn knwo what they read, probably best not to divulge on the net, but its almost exactly the same.

im sure i will run into him one day and ask him wher he got his inspiration....

such if life, maybe if i pull my finger out and get this turbo onto my ute thats been sitting in my room for 6 months it will make me forget about it :
