Cheap way to get your hands on a GT. How low in price can they go before they start going back up? Especially when they'll stop being made soon.

Seen them cheaper than this. Think the lowest I have seen was 12k. Pretty rough though

Imo they'll go cheaper then 10k me thinks. Its a joy toy for most, not rare now till maybe after a decade or so when they become rare & in demand they'll go up.
My 2 cents.

How many manual rear wheel drive v8 sedans will be available in australia in 5 years.
A ba gt it still a GT. Just because they didnt race them doesn't mean they wont appreciate. No point buying one for 12k with 200000kms. For 16k you get sub 100k |

I luv em! Probably the toughest looking of the modern day GT Falcons & while they might not go as hard as a 335 or new GTS, they were very competitive with the HSV's of that era & imo very worthy of wearing that very famous badge, GT.
When the price is right I will add a BA GT manual to my garage & if they keep getting cheaper, all the better.

Biggest issue I see is keeping it original over the long term.
Parts are NLA already, so imagine in 10 years time.

Good value I reckon.
How many other 13 year old locally made cars are still commanding 16k. Mind you - anything in that price range for an FPV would need to be looked at real careful. I wonder how much the equivalent vintage F6 is averaging. |

I read on the interwebs that if you turn the radio wrong on a b-series they explode

Cheap BA GT with a new 5.8 alloy block and associated bits would be killer, most of them would be about due for a freshen up anyway.

You'll never work in this town again putting relevant facts like that in to a thread like this. Shame. Shame. Shame.

OK so all of a sudden your sub 20k GT is now up for about $3k worth of repairs. Not such good value if you have to fix design flaws just to keep it going?

Did you see the blog of a guy who bought an RS6 and spent over $25k in one year on it just on maintenance?

Post of the year. Fancy buying a performance car that gets driven the way it's intended to be and not having to fix or replace anything after 10 years ! |

What I do find interesting is the T3s that are for sale are nearly double what the BA GTs are asking. I cant really think of anything modern where the previous model is worth so much more than the newer equivalent one.
Only car I can think of that is similar is the Porsche 993 and the 996 But the T3 owners do appear to be apart of some sort of clique. You dont see many new guys buying them, they only really ever get bought by other T owners. So you could argue the prices are artificially high?

16K you can't go wrong. People paid 60 - 70k when new and there are people here whinging that they may need to spend a few grand keeping it going?
Bloody hell some people are negative. If I had room in my backyard (which you can see I don't by my sig) I wouldn't hesitate parking a manual BA GT with sunroof in my shed.
