Default Mercedes AMG C63 Black series

I was fortunate enough to drive a Mercedes AMG C63 Black series over the weekend.

This has to be motoring at its finest. A car that goes 12.2 quarters on factory tyres, low 4s 0-100km/h and Mercedes quality and refinement.

I found that the car attracted so many hoons wanting to "have a crack at it".. More than a few embarrassed faces when they found out the hard way..

You really need to be a mature driver to drive it, can really catch you out how fast it is, even thoses used to a F6 or GT will be in for a big surprise.

Its most peoples dream car, gotta start saving for one, 10/10

Driving it, Its made me look at FPV or HSV cars with big disappointment.

Granted they're a great car, but you can't fairly compare them to FPV or HSV offerings, completely different price ranges.

If MB/AMG charged FPV prices they wouldn't be that good

They are a nice car to drive and look at, though I found the ride to be a bit too firm for our roads.

The sound is so good when you listen from the exhaust end that I now use it as my ringtone! (gives me a good jolt when my phone rings )

Still undecided on that rear wing though, sometimes I feel it suits the styling but other times it can make the Merc look a bit ricey.

Goes hard (thanks to short gearing) and stops just as well.

I'll have mine in white with the AMG stripe pack.

I'll go against the grain and heard a what I thought were a few 253 HQ Holdens chug up the road only to look up and see it was a C63 or ML63.

Some seem to sound totally F...d.

I have no doubt they would be nice bit of kit to drive and light years ahead of a falcodore in refinement. (Not having a go at falcodores here by the way)

Hmmm the c63 I drove didn't have a rice wing on it (just a lip spoiler) and it was a 4 door sedan not the coupe.. Maybe it wasn't a black edition, the owner said it was a upper spec variant and mentioned black series but looking at a pic of a black series I think it's just the regular c63.. Still a 10/10

Beautiful sounding car

Yeah, AMG V8s are the best sounding engines I've ever heard. If I ever won lotto I'd definitely consider buying one.

I must be the odd one out because I think they sound pretty average, remind me of the old 253 holdens. Top car though a lot better than a 253 powered holden I bet haha

I too think they sound very average, like the 253. They sound very crackly and not deep at all. You guys must listen to a Mesarati or M3, now thats a sound.

Probably the Edition 507 (507hp) or a regular C63 with the P31 option (481hp).

I dunno about that.. stock GT's are doing low 12 1/4 mile times too..
I've also given one a bit of a surprise a couple of years ago in my modded XR6T. (not saying they're slow tho either!)

What sort of $$ are they?

If that does not sound like a Clapped out Holden I don't know what does.

The wing certainly looks like a something a P plater would put on his V6 VN

Lots of FAIL right there, including driving FAIL

Don't they run a flat plane crank? That's why they sound the way they do.
My business partner just bought a brand new 2013 model with a performance pack.
He was complaining of a rattle in the engine. MB replaced part of the VCT control which fixed the problem. He hot a second opinion and was told that the valves may have been containing the pistons due to the faulty VCT.

Looking forward to borrowing it for a few days on my next visit to QLD.
