Default AU fairmont climate control unit pipe

Hi there,

Out of curiosity what does the big plastic pipe running to the back of the climate control unit do? Is it for vacuum? How tight should these pipes need to be?

Regards, Alex.

Hey mate.
Im pretty sure its for the climate control themister as it uses engine vacuum to draw cabin air over the sensor to regulate interior temp.
Other cars use a dedicated fan or vac pump to do the same job .
You can see the inlet and the thermister on the top left of the clock.
Just a firm fit should do.
