Default El Xr Id

Hi all

How do I identify the EL XR 8 .......apart from the obvious headlight surround.

I have seen 2 differing types of scoops in the bonnets of several XR's. One has three lines of flutes in each scoop which are parallel and run in lines the length of the scoop (if that makes any sense !) and the other has one oval inlet set in a similarly shaped scoop.

Were these an identifying mark of EF vs EL or is it EL Series 1 vs Series 2 ?

Also, were the tail light lenses of the EL XR 8 clear or amber ?

Thanks

Tail lights were amber. The bonnet vent should be the oval ones. The front obvious more aggressive headlight surround.

Physically they are the outside differences.

There is many more cabin differences and engine differences.
