3k for a clutch? LOL!!!! I am an apprentice mechanic. But have worked on cars all my life in the backyard and can tell you i know more than most 'qualified' mechanics. One of my mates is qualified 8 years. I said to him, you would know how to take a motor apart then. His reply......I wouldnt have a clue. Some mechanics are just useless and wanna make money off you. Tell her to buy it or take a hike.....I had a mechanic tell my friend he needed a new clutch in his 2003 Navara STR, i adjusted it for him. 10,000kms later still not an issue.
