Hey I was just wondering what would be the best way of fixing this massive scratch on the left passengers side of my car. Ford falcon AU 2, 2001
Sorry if this was posted in the wrong section. Edit - I dont know anything about cars so who would I have to see to get this fixed? Also if anyone could give a rough cost that would be sweet Last edited by phillza; 29-05-2014 at 11:43 AM. |

Its hard to tell from the photo's but it looks like a massive amount of paint has been taken off in the center area there and will need to be repainted to get it correct again. The area around it depending on if its on the surface (ie what ever was hit left behind) or if its scratched the through the paint could be buffed to correct it.

You could get most of that out by wet sanding it and buffing it, but the centre bit is way too far gone..

There is a lot of work in painting and preparing surfaces, color matching and correcting any panel damage if there is any plus cost of paint etc, no idea on cost, but I would be thinking in the hundreds.

$400 - $500 worth of paint and panel there.
Maybe try the wreckers for a door the same colour, probably $150.

The door alone could be just done but will probably stand out like dog balls unless you know a real good spray painter who knows his stuff. I would double the price. |

Best option is to hunt around for a replacement door, it wont match 100% but atleast it wont stand out like dogs nuts.
