Default Tyre Pressure

Hi all,

Just wondering, for those that just have stock wheels, how many PSI you are putting in them?

195/50 R15 or 195/45 R16?

Anyways, I ran 32psi front and rear (195/50 R15). I felt that it was the best pressure for me.

195/50 R15. I run 32psi as well. The car book says 29psi.

I have stock 195/50/15's on and I run 36front and 34back.

Ud be surprised what difference even a slight variation to tyre pressure can make.

high i have 205/40/r17 (yes i know there not stock) and i run 40 in the front and 35 i the rear

Try switching those pressures, it should handle a lot better.

I run 40psi all round in my 17's feels good & wearing nice and flat.
Note: ALWAYS run a higher pressure than what the manuel recommends that way you'll get longer life out of them.

I run 38psi all round on both my sets of yoko's and falken's I have yokos have worn flat. Falken's are still new so yeah cant report back on them yet.

Yeah the tyre placecard recommends 29psi front and 26psi rear. But I figured that the fuel economy would be abit better at 32psi because of less rolling-resistance n stuff.

If I go harder than 32psi, the car feels too stiff and the tyres dont absorb the bumps as a well as i like it to be. Remember that tyre pressures can increase 1-2psi when they're warmer/hot.

Generally, i find putting 10% over the log book recommendation is a starting point.

People who know their cars will feel the difference between a few PSI. however if you do a lot of freeway driving or driving with a heavy load than the 10% above recommendation is a minimum.

pump up your tyres when cold and experiment with what feels good, you will soon tell what makes the car feel sloppy and what makes the car turn and feel more solid on the road.

I've still got the standard tyres and wheels. So i'm usually running at 36 all around. However on the track obviously i'll drop it down to 30-31 psi cold.

I've got the 16's with 195/45 R16 80V's (the same Continental ContiSport Contacts that were on it when I bought it) and run 31 psi front, 29 psi rear.

Hi All,

Recently purchased a second hand 2008 Fiesta with 17 inch rims. They are all pumped up to 37 PSI. This seems a little high to me but I don't know as 17 inch is not specified in the owners manual.

Any recommendations on what to run them at? I can get more specific info on the tyre make and model/size if it will help.

sounds alright.

look at the tyres for any uneven wear and the tread condition will give you idea.

ive tested 38, 32 psi and settle on about 36 for the Stock potentza 205/40-17

might try the lower rear tyre and see how it feels
